Transforming Access to Specialist Care

Neurological and chronic medical conditions often require specialist consultations, diagnostic testing, rehabilitation and continued treatment. For many patients and families in Pakistan, the cost and limited availability of these services can delay diagnosis and interrupt essential care.

The planned Dr. Kazi Uzair Clinic will expand AZ Foundation’s existing work by bringing neurology, internal medicine, diagnostic services, rehabilitation and medical training together within one purpose-built facility.

The Clinic will be designed to support timely diagnosis, continued treatment and long-term specialist care for communities that currently have limited access to these services.

The Need

Specialist neurological care remains scarce and costly in Pakistan. The country faces a serious shortage of trained neurologists, while many medical professionals pursue career opportunities overseas.

Patients living with stroke, epilepsy, chronic headaches, neuropathy and other neurological or chronic medical conditions may remain undiagnosed or untreated until complications develop.

Delayed care can contribute to disability, loss of income, interrupted education and increased caregiving pressure on families. A permanent specialist facility will help address this gap through early diagnosis, continued treatment and locally available medical expertise.

A Purpose-Built Site in Ahsanabad

In 2025, AZ Foundation Trust, Karachi acquired a 2,000-square-yard amenity plot in Ahsanabad, KDA Scheme 33.

The location will allow the planned Dr. Kazi Uzair Clinic to serve communities where access to specialist neurological and medical services remains limited.

The site measures 150 feet in depth and 120 feet in width. It has frontage on an 80-foot-wide main road and access to a 30-foot-wide road at the rear, making it suitable for the development of a specialist medical facility.

Phase One: What We Plan to Build

Phase One will establish a ground-plus-two-floor facility designed to bring specialist consultations, diagnostic testing, rehabilitation and medical education together in one location.

The planned Neurology Training Unit will extend the Clinic’s future impact beyond the patients treated within the facility.

By supporting the development of local neurologists and healthcare professionals, the Dr. Kazi Uzair Clinic will help strengthen long-term specialist capacity and create sustainable medical career opportunities.

Training locally based specialists will help ensure that knowledge and care remain available within the communities they serve.

AZ Foundation is planning the Dr. Kazi Uzair Clinic as a purpose-built specialty facility that will expand access to free neurological and internal medicine care for communities with limited access to specialist services.
